From 15 January 2026,
every evening after half past nine,
on the playground of Lagner Primary School,
contemporary art videos will be screened.
The screenings will end at 6 o’clock in the morning.

In the film 'City Lights', the tramp played by Charlie Chaplin is invited to a ball by a drunken millionaire, who treats him with great hospitality, only to be ruthlessly cast out once the host has sobered up, leaving him once again on the streets. Whilst the urban experiences depicted in the film shift abruptly overnight, in the real world, the realities of the past year have seen repeated ebbs and flows. As our first project of 2026, we have organised this screening, titled ‘City Lights’, on an open space in the city centre. We invite everyone to witness the illumination and obscurity of ‘City Lights’.
‘YE XIAO’ is a night-time video screening programme set within architectural spaces; its first instalment will take place in the courtyard of the former Lagna Primary School.
