Li Kejin

Li Kejin was born in Nanjing in 1990 and graduated with an MA from the China Academy of Art in 2017. Following a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2015), he established his studio in Hangzhou.

Li’s work investigates the dynamic between narrative and painting, focusing on the alienation caused by psychological instability. He views this "loss of control" as a manifestation of the inherent gaps between individuals. By confronting the complexities of the mind and the various dark sides driven by fear, Li utilizes painting to engage with the human condition, challenging the viewer to contemplate the true essence of their own anxieties.
